My father and I were driving through a rural area when we saw a red light moving behind us.
It was not close enough to be another car, and it was not high enough to be a plane. It stayed at the same distance for almost fifteen minutes.
When we turned left, it turned left.
When we slowed down, it slowed down.
My father is not someone who believes in UFOs or anything strange. He kept saying it was probably a tower light or reflection, but I could see he was nervous.
At one point, he pulled over. The red object stopped too.
We both watched it hover in silence. Then it shot upward so fast that it left a faint red line behind it for a second.
My father started the car and said, “We are not telling your mother about this.”
We never did.
