This is the one thing I wish I could forget.
I was brushing my teeth late at night, looking down at the sink. When I looked up into the mirror, the room behind me was different.
Only for a second.
Instead of my bathroom doorway, I saw what looked like a long, dark room with wooden walls. There was a small lamp on a table and a chair facing away from me.
Then it was gone.
My normal bathroom was back.
I turned around immediately. Nothing was there.
I tried to convince myself it was a reflection from the hallway or my tired mind playing tricks on me, but the image was too clear. It did not look like a blur or shadow. It looked like another room.
The next day, I searched old photos of the house online.
Before it was renovated, the area where the bathroom now stands used to be a small sitting room with wooden walls.
