I was lying on the grass in my backyard, looking at the stars, when I noticed that three of them were moving.
They were not satellites. I have seen satellites before. These three lights moved together like they were connected by an invisible line.
They formed a triangle, then a straight line, then a triangle again.
The movements were too sharp. No plane could turn like that. No drone I know could fly that high and that smoothly.
I called my sister outside, and she saw them too.
For about two minutes, they moved across the sky in silence, changing positions without breaking formation. Then all three lights faded at the same time.
My sister said, “Maybe they were always there and just stopped pretending to be stars.”
I still think about that sentence.
