This happened on a clear afternoon, which somehow makes it stranger.
I was walking near a field outside town when I saw something metallic floating above the grass. It was shaped like a smooth oval, almost like a silver stone, but perfectly still in the air.
It was not very high. Maybe the height of a two-story building.
There was no sound, no smoke, no wires, and no visible movement. The strangest thing was that it did not seem to cast a shadow, even though the sun was strong.
I stared at it for maybe ten seconds before it tilted slightly.
Then it disappeared.
Not flew away. Not moved fast. It just blinked out, like someone turned off an image.
When I got home, I searched the news, local groups, everything. Nothing.
Sometimes I wonder how many things people see but never report because they think nobody will believe them.
